Passage and Branching Out
Olympic Middle School, Shelton, WA 2008
Commissioned by the Washington State Arts Commission
“Passage” is located in the bus lobby where students enter the school. “Branching Out” is sited in the school library reading area. Both murals were done in oils on panels. Each is approximately 6’ x 9’ in size.
Passage
Passage portrays children on a journey in the Olympic Mountains (for which the school is named), guided by magic eagles and animals of the region which figured importantly in native stories.
Branching Out
Branching Out is located in the school library. It depicts a magic tree with book opening new worlds.
